Best Salon Near Concord, CA | Kinsley + Mane Hair and Extension Lounge
Hand-Painted Balayage, NBR Extensions, and Color Correction | Serving Concord and Central Contra Costa Since 2012
Welcome to Kinsley + Mane: Concord's Go-To Luxury Hair and Extension Lounge
Welcome to Kinsley + Mane Hair and Extension Lounge, the salon Concord and the surrounding Diablo Valley area have been turning to since 2012. The salon sits at 220 Alamo Plaza, Suite C-1 in Alamo, California, a twenty-minute drive from downtown Concord, south on I-680 to the Stone Valley Road exit. This is the area's destination for Natural Beaded Row hand-tied hair extensions, custom balayage and lived-in color, and precision women's haircuts, all built around your hair, your goals, and your schedule.
Ashley Pollard founded this salon with one purpose: build a space where Concord clients feel heard, where the work holds up to the standard the East Bay deserves, and where every appointment is treated as the start of a long-term relationship rather than a transaction. That intention has not changed. What started as Ashley Pollard Hair Studio became Kinsley + Mane, and the clients from Concord and across the Diablo Valley responded. Over a decade later, the salon is still the first name that comes up when local residents want hair they are proud of.
Concord is the largest city in central Contra Costa County and the busiest in our service radius. The crowd at Todos Santos Plaza, the music seasons at the Concord Pavilion, and the working population that fills downtown during the day all feed into a salon clientele that is wide-ranging and demanding. We see Concord clients who want stadium-ready hair before a Pavilion show, and we see Concord clients who want quiet, low-maintenance color that fits a pediatric nurse's twelve-hour shifts.

Why Kinsley + Mane Is the Best Salon Near Concord, CA
Concord clients come to us when they have outgrown the strip-mall salons closer to home. The most common version of that story is a balayage that came out brassy and patchy, a haircut that went wrong, or an NBR consultation that turned into a sales pitch. We take a different approach, which is why our Concord client roster has been steadily building for over a decade.
Color correction is one of our most-booked services for Concord clients. Brooklyn and Alicia have a reputation for fixing what other salons started, including box-dye build-up, banded highlights, and brassy blondes. The first appointment is always a thorough consultation and a strand test, and the recovery plan is honest about how many sessions it will take.
For NBR extensions, Concord clients are usually researching their first set. We walk through every method, including why we chose hand-tied with bead attachment, and we never push a service that does not fit the hair pattern. If you are not a good candidate, we tell you.
Natural Beaded Row Hand-Tied Hair Extensions for Concord Clients
Hand-tied NBR extensions are the specialty Kinsley + Mane has built over more than a decade. We use a bead-attached weft system, no glue, no tape, and no heat. The wefts move with your natural hair and the install does not damage the underlying texture. Color correction from box-dye and over-processed hair, lived-in balayage that fits a busy work schedule, and consultative NBR extension fittings. The first conversation is always a consultation, and we will tell you if your hair pattern is not the right fit for the method.
Hand-Painted Balayage and Lived-In Color
Balayage at our salon is hand-painted, slow, and built around your natural hair pattern. The technique lifts color softly, the gloss controls tone, and the cut grows out cleanly. Concord clients tend to stretch eight to twelve weeks between full appointments, with optional gloss refreshes in between. Alicia, Brooklyn, and Jazmin lead the color program.
Precision Haircuts and Dry-Detail Finishing
Brooklyn leads the cutting program. Every cut starts with a hair-pattern read, a face-shape assessment, and a clear plan for how the cut will grow out. The dry-detail finish at the end is what holds the shape between appointments. Concord clients book six to twelve weeks apart on cut, depending on length and growth pattern.
Color Correction and Repair
If you have arrived at a color you did not want, we can usually take you out of it. Box-dye removal, brassy-blonde correction, banded highlights, and over-processed bleached hair are the most common color-correction projects we take on. The plan is honest about what is achievable in one session versus what takes a careful sequence of appointments. Concord clients with color-correction needs should expect a thorough first consultation before we book the corrective work.

The Kinsley + Mane Experience for Concord Clients
The salon is built to feel like a private, calm space. The lighting is soft, the music is low, and the conversations stay between you and your stylist. Concord clients tell us the difference between Kinsley + Mane and the closer options is the time the team takes. We do not run on a thirty-minute appointment grid. The work takes the time it takes, and the result is the result.
Every appointment starts with a consultation. Whether it is your first visit or your fiftieth, your stylist will check in on what is working, what has changed, and what you want this visit. The formula notes from your last appointment live in our system, but the conversation never assumes anything.
The retail wall holds the full Oribe line. We are an authorized Oribe stockist and our team has trained directly with Oribe educators. If you want product recommendations after your service, ask your stylist or the front-desk team. We are happy to walk through your routine and tell you what fits, what does not, and what is worth your spend.
Client Testimonials from Concord and the Diablo Valley
Stephanie L. - Concord
"I came in with a box-dye nightmare and walked out three sessions later with the color I had wanted in the first place. Alicia never made me feel embarrassed, she just got me there."
Veronica P. - Concord
"The salon I went to in Concord burned my hair off. I had inches of breakage and was ready to shave. Brooklyn cut the damage out, started a treatment plan, and a year later my hair is the longest it has ever been."
Tiffany R. - Concord
"My NBR consultation was honest. They told me my hair pattern was not ideal for full extensions and recommended a smaller add-in for volume. The result was perfect and I trusted them completely after that."
Megan A. - Concord
"I work twelve-hour shifts at John Muir. I do not have time for a salon that runs late. They have never made me wait, and the color is gentle enough that I can stretch six weeks between appointments."
Brittany O. - Concord
"My wedding hair from Eva is still the photo my husband has framed in our office. I drove from Concord, it was worth it, and our whole family books here now."
Frequently Asked Questions from Concord Clients
How long is the drive from Concord to the salon during weekday rush?
Twenty minutes outside of rush hour, twenty-five during. We schedule Concord appointments away from the worst commute windows when we can, and we hold the appointment if traffic is bad.
Do you fix box-dye color correction?
Yes. Box-dye removal and color correction is one of our most-booked services for Concord clients. The first visit is always a consultation with a strand test, and the plan usually takes two to three sessions over a few months.
What is Natural Beaded Row hand-tied extension?
Natural Beaded Row is a hand-tied weft extension method attached with small beads instead of glue, tape, or heat. The beads anchor the wefts to your natural hair, distributing weight evenly and avoiding the damage that comes with bond-based methods. NBR is the method we have built our extension program around since 2012.
How long do extensions last?
The wefts themselves typically last six to twelve months with proper care. Move-up appointments are needed every six to eight weeks to reposition the rows as your natural hair grows. We schedule those during your initial consultation.
How does lived-in color differ from traditional highlights?
Lived-in color is hand-painted, low-contrast, and built to grow out cleanly. Traditional highlights use foils, are higher-contrast, and require touch-ups every six weeks. Lived-in color clients tend to stretch eight to twelve weeks between appointments.
Do you do color correction?
Yes. Color correction is one of our most-booked services. The first appointment is always a consultation with a strand test, and the plan usually takes two to three sessions over a few months. We are not the cheapest option for color correction, but we are the option that gets it right.
What products do you use?
We use Wella and Schwarzkopf for permanent and demi color, Redken Shades EQ for glosses, Olaplex and K18 for bond repair, and the full Oribe line for retail. We are an authorized Oribe stockist and the product line is available in our retail section.
Do you take walk-ins?
We are appointment-only. Our schedule typically fills two to three weeks in advance. Book online or call 925.433.9062 to find an opening.
What is the cancellation policy?
We ask for forty-eight hours of notice on cancellations. The policy is published at booking and is enforced consistently to protect the team's schedule.
Can I bring my daughter for her first balayage?
Yes. We work with younger clients on balayage starting at sixteen with parental consent. Many of our long-term family clients bring their daughters for first-time color, graduation balayage, or a senior-photo blowout.
